Over the last 20 years, the dry cooling systems for power plants have gained an increasing interest as an alternative to the wet cooling systems.
In an industry that is changing constantly, Hamon Research-Cottrell is ready to accept the challenges with it. In 1907 Dr. Frederick Gardner Cottrell invented the first industrial Electrostatic Precipitator. In 1912, he founded the non-profit Research Corporation, and forty years later, Research Corporation gave birth to Research-Cottrell. Since then, we've been an industry leader, supplying over 5,000 ESPs in the last 100 years, and much more dust removal equipment.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions are a primary contributor to acid rains. They are produced by the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, orimulsion, municipal solid waste, automobile tires and many industrial processes such as gasoline refining, cement, paper, glass, steel, iron, and copper production.
We have successfully installed Selective catalytic reduction deNOx plants (SCR) in the most stringent applications like hazardous waste incinerators or diesel engines.
Some utility and industrial processes, such as waste incineration, generate several pollutants, such as SOx, HCl, HF, heavy metals, dioxins and furans as well as NOx. The control of these particles must be accomplished with integrated air quality systems that combine different treatments to provide the highest efficiency of removal in respect of the best available technology. Hamon excels in providing custom made installations to respond to the most severe conditions.
Hamon Deltak (HDI), part of the Hamon Group since 2011, designs and manufactures Combustion Turbine Heat Recovery Steam Generators and Waste Heat Boilers. Since 1972, HDI has focused on, and has been at the top of the industry, in quality due to our unrivaled engineering and manufacturing experience.
The Hamon Group has been selected by Mytilineos to take part in the Protos Energy-from-waste (EfW) project with a 6 module Air Cooled Condenser in Cheshire, United Kingdom. The scope includes the design and the supply of the ACC.
Hamon – Esindus has been selected by the Spanish EPC company TSK to provide a 7 cell seawater, low-noise and fire resistant induced draft cooling tower for the Atinkou Flexible Gas Power Plant.
Hamon was selected for the design and delivery of one of the biggest sea water Flue Gas Desulfurization systems worldwide for two 1.000 MW ultra-supercritical units of the Tanjung Jati B 5&6 power plant. The first unit of the plant has entered commissioning phase.
Thanks to our technology, Hamon has been selected by Linde GmbH for the design, manufacturing and delivery of a 18 cell - cooling tower for Amur Gas Chemical Complex (Amur CGG), one of the largest polymer facilities worldwide to be constructed by Russia’s largest integrated petrochemical company Sibur in partnership with Chinese Sinopec. The induced draft cooling tower will be made of FRP. Its fully automatic louver system will allow a continuous operation during extreme low ambient temperature (-52 deg C).
By providing an 8 modules Air Cooled Condenser, Hamon will contribute to the Omaezakikou Biomass Power Plant in Japan.
After the success of Pingshan phase I project, the shell construction of the Phase II cooling tower has been completed. Pingshan II, designed by Hamon, is now the largest and tallest cooling tower in the world, rising to 210 m above ground level. The previous record was held by the two cooling towers of Kalisindh power plant in India (8m shorter).
Hamon UK were awarded a contract in May 2019 following a 3-year tender process to convert RWE Little Barford Power Station, UK to a conventional plume abated Cooling Tower. This 727MW net capacity power station comprises two banks of 14 cells (28 cells total) fed by 14 risers (2 cells per riser). The total flow rate is 41,832m3/hr. The cooling tower was originally designed with a wet / dry pack in crossflow configuration to provide a design plume point of 4°C and 92% RH.
